Design Considerations

The SlimDrain™ Drainage System is available with different grate configurations, to suit a range of installation conditions.

The SlimDrain™ inlet is a galvanised metal grate with a standard opening width of 48mm. This bike-safe design includes two longitudinal bars with an opening of 14mm.
Combined with HardiePipe™ concrete pipe with its high chemical resistance and excellent flow characteristics, the SlimDrain™ Drainage System is not only able to provide outstanding hydraulic performance but is highly durable and long lasting.

SlimDrain™ Drainage System can be utilised in a number of different methods:
• Invert of kerb
• Against median barrier
• Line drainage in car parks & driveways
• Spill containment

SlimDrain™ Drainage System provides flexibility in surface finishes that can be used, such as hand placed concrete, slip-formed kerbing or AC pavement.

The narrow profile of the SlimDrain™ Drainage System often results in a line drainage product that is almost invisible once installed. Avoiding the use of multiple entry pits, the SlimDrain™ Drainage System produces a safer, more visually appealing kerb line that avoids ponding or sheet water formation.

The smooth, hydraulically efficient pipe allows the system to be self-cleansing at low flow velocities, reducing maintenance and disruption to traffic. The range of James Hardie fittings can be used to incorporate flushing and inspection points if desired.
